PROJECT UPLIFT 4.0        9•15•2018 #weareprojectuplift

Join us on Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at Whole Foods Market Fort Collins at 2201 South College Ave, Fort Collins, CO

Project Uplift is a local athlete competition for all levels. Presented by OTAC CrossFit and Whole Foods Market Fort Collins, the competition will be held from 8am-5pm in the northwest parking lot of Whole Foods Market Fort Collins.

All proceeds benefit Kids at Heart non profit,, who support local foster and adoptive families in the Fort Collins area.  Be ready for a high-energy day with amazing athletes, families, and friends. There will be a fun athletic area, new this year, for kids to practice their skills. We will have over 20 local and community vendors. More details to come.

Remember the Athlete's Bag?! Every athlete will receive a killer schwag bag, t-shirt, vendor schwag, and a new surprise item. This bag is worth more than $100. Awesome!!!

As the event gets closer we will be providing more information to all athletes about the workouts and movement standards. Looking forward to another amazing competition! #weareprojectuplift

We are anxiously anticipating our 4thAnnual Project Uplift and we hope you are too! I’m going to run down the weekend’s events and expectations.  We have 184 athletes participating this year and your strict adherence to timelines and expectations are necessary for running a seamless event.  Thanks in advance for helping us run a smooth, fun, and safe comp.

  • Sportsmanship ABOVE ALL – above winning and above judging discrepancies.  Let’s model for our community what our sport is all about. It’s you against you out there, so you have already won by using your body in healthy, productive ways to benefit others.  It is win, win, win for everyone.
  • Remember that everyone making this event happen is a VOLUNTEER.  Treat them with respect.
  • Be early for your heats.  It is tricky business getting this many people through this much work in a timely fashion. Please arrive to your event 5 minutes before you are scheduled to begin and take the opportunity to cheer for whoever is finishing up their workout.  They’ll appreciate the extra push.
  • Treat the equipment with care.  This equipment belongs to the athlete’s at our box who graciously (and without hesitation) allow us to use it for this event.  DO NOT drop empty barbells, throw down dumbbells…you know the rules already; they are the same at your box.
  • Adhere to movement standards and understand the workouts.  Please review all the videos, read the workouts and understand the flow before you arrive.  That will make the (mandatory) athletes briefing go much more smoothly and you’ll then have more time to warm up!  If you have questions now, please go ahead and send them our way, we will happily respond.

Friday September 14th

  • 4:00-7:00 pm Athlete Check – In. Every person competing must stop by and pick up their schwag bag, t-shirt, etc.  If you ABSOLUTELY cannot make it, please let us know.
    • Stop and get hydrated with NOCO Vitamin Bar! They will be offering discounted rates to all athletes.

Saturday September 15th

  • 7:00 – Arriving
  • 7:30 – Mandatory athletes briefing
  • 8:30 – WOD’s begin
  • 12:00 – 12:30 Lunch Break - Heads/Tails Raffle
  • 3:30 – Final
  • 4:15 – Awards
  • 4:30 – Tear down.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.  If everyone carried even one piece of equipment to a truck, we would have a great head start on cleaning up, and you would have our undying gratitude ;)

Final notes:

  • You’ll need to bring your own jump rope!  Don’t forget.
  • We will have limited equipment in the warm-up area.  If you’ve got something you need to have to warm up, please bring it along.
  • We are doing a heads/tails raffle and we are giving away, among other things, a ROGUE Echo Air Bike!  Each chance costs $10 and all the money goes to Kids at Heart.
  • Follow all the action all day long on Wodify!  There will be a live leaderboard at the main website.  Connect here for all live scores and standings.
  • We have Project Uplift hats for sale on Wodify, all proceeds go to Kids at Heart.
  • Tons of vendors will be present and we will have an even bigger area for the kids to get their bodies moving, so be sure to have your families comes out!
  • Don’t forget to tag all your Project Uplift social media photos with #weareprojectuplift. We will be rewarding the best 5 photos from the day with special prizes.

In closing, we want to extend our biggest, most heartfelt thank you to each of you for helping us support Kids at Heart.  We love CrossFit, kids, and our community.  There’s no better way we can think of to bring all of those things together than Project Uplift!

Josh, Kristin, Clinton and the whole Project Uplift team.

We had a couple questions come up about the process for signing up for the comp.

You will need to pick a team captain. After your captain signs everyone in you can choose to pay together or separate. The team captain can choose their t-shirt size and the rest of the team will get an email to make their choice.
